Day 1: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

Your journey begins with a short morning briefing. Then, you head to Lake Manyara National Park. This park isn't very big and sits along a high hill called Rift Valley Escarpment. The main attraction here is Lake Manyara, a lake that's a bit salty.

It's famous for thousands of pink flamingos that make the lake look pink. Many water birds and over 400 types of birds live here. The park has different kinds of plants and homes for animals like monkeys in the forest, giraffes, and antelopes in the grassy areas, and elephants near the acacia trees.

If you're really lucky, you might see lions in the trees. In the late afternoon, you leave the park and head to Kirurumu Manyara Lodge, where you'll spend the night.

Day 2: Lake Manyara Area to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you drive to the highlands where the Iraqw people grow crops like wheat, corn, and coffee. You pass by the Ngorongoro Crater before reaching the plains of Serengeti National Park around lunchtime.

The Serengeti is Tanzania's biggest park and has lots of different landscapes, like short grass plains, savannah, dense bushes, swamps, mountains, and lakes. There are weird rock formations called Kopjes in the grassy areas, where you often see predators.

Depending on the time of year, you might see thousands of animals moving around. During the short rainy season in November and December, herds move from the north to the south, and during the longer rainy season from April to June, they go back up north.

All this moving depends on the rains, so where the herds are can change from year to year. But your guide knows where to find the animals and the best places to see them. You'll stay the night at Kati Kati Tented Camp.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

It's a good idea to wake up early to see wildlife, so you'll go on an early morning game drive. Then, you return to camp for breakfast before heading out for another game drive in the park. In the Seronera region, you often see wildebeests and zebras near lions and other predators like leopards and cheetahs.

After lunch, you continue your journey to the Ngorongoro Crater. Once you reach the rim of the crater, you get to see amazing views of this deep, collapsed volcano. You'll stay at Ang’ata Ngorongoro Camp, which is on the rim of the crater.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha.

After an early breakfast, you drive down a steep, narrow road into the Ngorongoro Crater. The slopes are covered with forests, but as you go down, the landscape changes to a wide open grassy area. Here, you'll see lots of amazing wildlife.

With some luck, you can see the Big Five – lions, elephants, buffalos, rhinos, and leopards – all in just a few hours. You should also see warthogs, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, and over 500 types of birds.

After a morning full of game viewing and a picnic lunch, you leave the crater in the early afternoon and drive back to Arusha. You'll get back in the early evening.
